How to estimate durations
- Next, we add estimates of duration to each of the post-it notes, just the average time, whatever we expect it to take, usually in weeks. I like to put on the weeks in a different color and a nice, big number so we can easily add them up later. And of course, if you don't know how long something takes, find out, ask an expert or a specialist, someone will know. If nobody knows, then break it down into smaller parts until you get down to things that you do know about. So that's the times added to the post-it notes. Your plan is looking good. And I'd like you to go back to your example now and try it for your own project.
