- Okay, so do you want to know what the opposite of adaptable is? The opposite of adaptable is, "I'm right, I know I'm right, "and how can I get them to see I'm right?" Now, that's a very human emotion, but it's also not very productive. Because the truth is, we know it intellectually, other people may have good ideas sometimes. Part of being adaptable is understanding, you know what, I should probably listen because not all the ideas are going to be great, but some of them are, and we need to be open minded enough to listen and hear and take it in, and to tell the difference. Here are some ways to do that. The first way is to really start thinking about other people. What is their perspective? What are they thinking?
