How to approach this question

- Interviewers often ask this question as a way to break the ice and let you talk about your experience as a project manager. Your answer should help them see that you're ready to dive in and start managing projects for their organization, but it should also help them get to know you. You want to make it easy for them to ask follow-up questions and engage in a conversation. So try to choose a story that shows your understanding of project management principles and how they apply to different situations. You could share a professional success. In other words, you could just give a straight answer and talk about a project that's similar to the work you'd be doing with their company. Or, you can talk about something that's creative or interesting. That could be a project that you did with a previous employer or even a project from school or a volunteer activity. As you tell the story, just make sure that you've explained how you use project management tools and techniques to help the team plan, execute, and successfully close out the project. Don't be afraid to make it personal because personal stories are more memorable. So give the interviewer the information they need about your project management skills but also give them a chance to see a bit of your personality and the things that you're passionate about.
