How to approach this question

- This one's tricky. While it's okay to admit your faults and share how you're actively working to fix them, you don't want to be lacking in either of these skills, the details or big picture thinking. Both are a necessity as a marketer, which is why it is helpful to share how you balance both skillsets and consistently practice them in your day-to-day. Describe your balance by sharing which of the two skillsets you're stronger in, either high-level thinking or managing the details of a project. This will make your answer more genuine, as no one has a perfect balance of each. You can accomplish this by providing examples of past experiences where you've made use of each skillset. A great example of this would be sharing how you volunteered to take part in the strategy planning meetings to level up your skills and move beyond the day-to-day detail work. This is an opportunity to share how you've learned to improve the skillset you're not as strong in, which can demonstrate your commitment to professional growth. And to wrap up your answer, relate both skillsets to the role you're interviewing for. This requires getting very familiar with the job description and listening to the interviewer to include some of what you've learned from them in your response. The goal here is to share that you're a well-rounded professional able to take on the demands of the role, and that you're very purposeful about learning as you go.
