- This question aims at helping managers assess maturity in an engineer. Too often, technically gifted engineers confuse effort for impact and complexity for value. In college, you may get partial credit if you show your work, but from the customer standpoint in most cases, either your product works or it doesn't. A hiring manager will want to know whether you can set measurable goals for success and then work towards those goals.
