How to approach this question

(light upbeat music) - This is a super common sales interview question that perspective employers use to see if you're a performer, to see your process and to understand if you're used to hitting a quota similar to theirs. So when you answer this one, you're going to want to keep all three things in mind. I recommend that you answer by sharing the quota that you are responsible for now, or the one that aligns most with your understanding of this job. The exception to this is if that job was a long time ago. In this case, just go with something more current. And once you share what that goal is, dive into the specific steps that you take to get there. If you have a morning routine to get yourself organized and revved up, share that. If you regularly take online courses to keep your selling skills strong, or stay current on the technology that helps you do your job, mention that. Just be sure and pay attention to how this question is asked. Sometimes it'll be a general, "How do you go about this?" And other times it's more, "Please share a story "about how you reached this goal." Be sure and frame things up and share an example that illustrates that you're really good at what you do, so of course they should hire you!
