- Approaching recruiters can feel daunting, especially if you haven't had much success with it in the past. But having a solid approach might maximize the odds that you'll peak their interest and hear back from them sooner rather than later. LinkedIn is a great place to start. Most recruiters, they spend a lot of time on LinkedIn, but you might also email them or even just pick up the phone and call. With an internal recruiter, Here's what you might say. "Hi, I'm a retail merchandiser. I noticed the post that you have up, and I think I might be a good match. May I ask you a couple of quick questions?" If it's an agency recruiter, maybe you go with something like this. "Hi there, I'm a chemist, and I noticed that your firm represents clients in my field.
