- Hi, I'm Aimee Bateman, careers coach and founder of Careercake, and I have built my entire career around helping people get jobs. And not just any job, but great jobs. And often these great jobs were within their current organization. Because you don't always need to look externally for new opportunities. You don't need to go to a new firm. There could be tons of awesome places and things that you can do internally. Learning new skills, adding a different type of value, building new relationships, all in your current employer. So within this course we're going to focus on how you can be promotable. We're going to look at what you might need to do and consider in order to get that promotion. So the first thing that we're going to look at is actually identifying and understanding the performance in your current role, 'cause that's where it kind of starts. Then how to complete something called a gap analysis, and this will help you identify your development areas. And then we're going to create a development plan. And this is going to help you understand what types of learning methods would suit you best. Then understand the importance of developing your network, because it is all about your network and maintaining and building new effective working relationships. Then understanding, and this is the big stuff, understanding the value that you're going to bring to your new job. How you can provide examples and how you can communicate this. So let's get started.
