(exciting orchestra music) - The untold secret about Broadway is that it's a job. If this is something that you want to do, you've got to be willing to give everything. - I never thought that barbering would become what it has for me. I never thought that you could really make it a career. But I found out after I tried everything else, barbering was the only thing that I was passionate about. And now it's something that I'm making six figures off of. - My mom always had this drive to climb the ladder and so I saw her getting promoted which let me know that there was no such thing as a glass ceiling that I couldn't break. (upbeat music) - Being in a wheelchair and not really having dexterity in my fingers, how would I work? How could I work? Would a workplace accommodate me? So I told myself that I would fight. - That kind of stick-to-it-tiveness, that kind of focus and drive, that if you don't have that within the arts, it's a tough road. You really have to make the road while walking. - To be successful, you have to find your niche. What is it that you're passionate about? List the things you like to do and then figure out how can you make this a business. - People know who I am because of the work I produce, then nothing more. Your work is not saying witty things on Twitter. Your work is taking the time to do good reporting and do important stories. - That moment when I'm in the theater and the lights go dim and the audience feels that magic, that's when I know I'm walking and living in my purpose.
