- Legend has it, back in the 90s, there was a journalist working for Vanity Fair called Michael Caruso. He had creative, captivating and groundbreaking ideas for articles, but he had an issue. He needed to pitch those ideas to the editor-in-chief and good luck getting an appointment with her anytime soon. So he got creative. He knew there was a very short period when the editor-in-chief would ride the elevator to her office. And in that time, she would be stationary, not on the phone and bored.
