- [Instructor] After a business has put all the hard work into developing a strategy the next step is to implement. Implementation is the strategic management phase where specific plans for each department are developed. It's when the organization communicates the overall strategy and uses project management principles to execute it. The first step to implementing is to communicate the strategy to all employees. Tell them what decisions they're allowed to make and which have to be raised to the next level of management. There needs to be a way for leadership to get feedback about what parts of the implementation are working or not working, and about what's happening in the external environment. And employees need to understand how the work they do is relevant to the strategy. Good communication requires transparency.
