- The catchy song It's a Small World After All is a perfect theme song for HR. Between air travel and the internet, the world has gotten smaller, and even local companies are now doing business in the global market. This is a concept known as globalization. Globalization is the worldwide movement toward economic, financial, trade, and communications integration. Within the global context, HR professionals have to develop policies that adhere to government regulations and respect the norms and culture of the countries where they have a presence. This particularly affects attracting new employees and keeping current employees motivated and engaged.
