- Now as you're focusing on business model innovation, you also need to design around two key growth limiters. The first key growth limiter is the lack of product market fit. The key question you have to ask yourself is, are my users using my product regularly, and with increasing intensity? So if your product actually fits the market, people are going to use it on a regular basis, and they'll keep using it more and more. If, on the other hand, people try your product once, and then slowly fade away, you're not going to be able to blitzscale. The second key growth limiter you must overcome, is operational scalability.
There's one key question you have to ask yourself. Are my infrastructure costs and people costs growing slower or faster than my customers and revenues? If they're growing slower, then fantastic, you're actually scaling well, and you'll be able to continue to grow the business. But if they're growing faster, you need to stop, figure out what's going on, and change your business model, so that growth limiter no longer applies. And if you do that, then you'll be able to return to blitzscaling.
