- I have a theory that one of the reasons we don't get some of our things done is because we make them sound like homework. Revise my manuscript, update my resume. Ugh, sounds horrible. No wonder you're not doing it. When you're making your to-do or could do list, go ahead and give your projects a fun or a groovy name, something that reminds you, why you want to do it, what's really motivating you. So instead of revise my manuscript, maybe it's polish the diamonds of my words. Instead of update my resume, maybe it's put all the trophies in the trophy case. Clearing off the dining room table sounds like punishment, but project dinner party, that sounds kind of fun.
