- [Interviewer] I like that notion that you've know a lot of things, you feel need to say a lot of things and know that's really not what the person on the other end wants to hear. Can you tell me a little about dense and how that's a bad thing? - [Respondent] This is so common. When I have worked with people, they tell them too much. That's the big thing. They get stuck in the weeds. The first thing you want to know is who's in front of me, what do they care about? And how do they like to receive information. And then you tailor your message to their style and less is more. And here's why. If they want more information, they'll ask for it. So, give them what they need to know not everything you know. And I am going to repeat that because it's so important. Give them what they need to know, not everything you know. And when you are crisp, they actually retain more.
