Gen Z's events and conditions
- In getting to know the Gen Z employee, you've got to go way beyond birth years and age, and truly understand the events and conditions that shape them and there's lots of them. One would be the economy. Now to put into perspective, let's look at the dinner time conversations that Millennials were having during their formative years. It was really exciting. There was a lot of business that started in a garage, overnight becoming a huge success. There's economic prosperity, they had Boomer parents telling them they can be anything they wanted to be. A lot different than the dinner conversations that we had with Gen Z. The economy was rough. It was the recession and in fact, the net worth of their parents fell by 45%.
