GSA: Assessing your readiness and fit

- Once you've determined that GSA is an option you'd like to explore, your organization should walk through a readiness assessment. A readiness assessment helps you to determine three things, fit, time, and ability. By fit, I mean does your company's products or service fit the description within a scheduled solicitation? By time, I mean do you have the time to do this? Get on schedule is just the beginning. You must also have the staff and capability to manage and market your business with a schedule contract. And regarding ability, you need to determine if your current pricing has the ability to compete within the pool of contractors on the GSA schedule. Review price lists in GSA Advantage! and to complete a price comparison for similar products and/or services. GSA states that prospective vendors should conduct market research to determine what comparable products or services are provided to the government market.
