- [Instructor] To practice forgiveness meditation, let yourself sit comfortably. Allow your eyes to close, your body and breath to relax. Natural at ease, take a deep breath or two. Breath gently, and bringing your attention to the area of your heart, sense that you could breathe in and out of the heart. As you sit, let yourself feel all the barriers because you've not forgiven. Not forgiving yourself, not forgiving others. Let yourself feel the pain of keeping your heart closed. It doesn't have to be this way, breathe softly into the heart. We'll now begin asking and extending forgiveness in three directions. The first direction is forgiveness from others. As you sit quietly, let yourself reflect. There are many ways that I've caused hurt and harm to others. Betrayed them, abandoned them, caused them suffering knowingly and unknowingly. We've all done this.
