- There are three crucial steps that you need to take during your sales meeting to pave the way for a smooth and effective follow-up process. The first step is to create urgency. You need to show your prospect why not taking action is going to hurt them or cause them to lose something. Remember, people hate losing things more than they like gaining things. A good way to do this is to bring your customer's attention to their pain points.
