- Of course, we must know the needed results. We've already talked about that. We need a goal post and an end line. But if we want the full commitment and full effort of our team, we need something more. So far they have the what. What they need now is the why. In July of 1969, Neil Armstrong and the team landed on the moon, planted a flag on the surface, and said, "One small step," and you know the rest. But the story actually started nine years before that when President Kennedy said, "We will send a man "to the moon and bring him home safely." And of course, that's exactly what we did. I want you to think about that example. And I want you to think about, well, why did we go, as I give you the keys to finding purpose. First, help people see the future state. Well, that's what President Kennedy did. He created a picture, says, we're going to the moon, we're going to send people there, we're going to bring them home…
