- Okay, you've done the work. You've identified your target customer. You've built your marketing and sales plan. You've got your financial house in order. What do you need to do right before you open your doors? Well, the first thing I like to think about is a systems check, right? So be sure all systems are go. Everybody's key cards work to get into the building. The computers are all working and the software's online. The phone lines work, the wifi is connected. The software licenses are up to date. All those things can really snag you if one of them's not working, so do a systems check. The second thing you want to be sure is you do an email blast.
