From the course: Become a Courageous Female Leader

Finding your fuel

- Finding your fuel. So, taking that frustration and using it as fuel to lead change. As a leader you need to care about something more than just driving the results. You really need to attach yourself to an issue that's going to help us achieve that equitable environment culture or community that we all strive for. So when you think about this list, there's things like equal pay, maybe you've been frustrated in the past that you felt like you weren't paid the same as the guy next to you and you have the same education, you've had the same amount of work experience, or maybe it's mentorship. Maybe you're someone that really believes that mentors are crucial to development, and you want to formalize it in your workplace. Or maybe it's just the fact that you feel like there isn't enough education about speaking up and speaking out and why it's important to have an inclusive culture, and you want to drive more learning and education and awareness building. So I really challenge you to think about what subject, what topic within this big huge quest of equality and achieving equity for women is important to you and how to find that is to really think about what's come up often for you. Either again, as frustrations or on the other end it's something that you really feel like has fueled you, it's really accelerated your development, your progress like mentors. So figuring out what that specific topic is helps you figure out how to magnify it, amplify it, and really help serve others and make it more available and more prominent at your organization.
