- Growing up in a military family with my father being in the army, and living all over the world, I think I always had a deep appreciation for not only how important and powerful America is, but that what happens in the world affects us at home, and when I was 10 years old, we lived in Seoul, South Korea, and a friend of mom's said, you know, they're looking for people to help do a program that teaches English, and so at age 10, I had my first job on Korean television. We've tried to bury those tapes. They do exist somewhere. (laughing) Because I had on those funny sweaters from the 80s, but it really was the beginning of me learning how to speak in front of a camera, to practice diction, to communicate clearly, and was really helping essentially Koreans learn English in that format.
