- When I worked in HR, I learned that people are busy. Work, kids, elder care, after school activities and just the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nobody comes to work looking for a fight, most come to work with the goal of contributing, collaborating and doing an overall good job. But conflict happens. In fact, it's natural that people who care passionately about a topic will have disagreements from time to time. Not every dispute at work leads to major drama, but even a minor disagreement between two people can be stressful. Self-leaders understand that the best way to end a dispute is to swiftly reach a healthy compromise or a productive solution. A healthy compromise is an end to the conflict that works in the longterm best interest of both parties, forgiving, trusting, seeing the situation from someone else's point of view. When you give a little in order to find common ground, that's a healthy compromise.…
