- [Instructor] Understanding how to read and interpret financial statements can help you avoid many of the behavioral biases that we've talked about. Let's take a look at some key elements in valuation and financial statements for firms. So, I'm here on the Quote page, or ticker page, for Microsoft, ticker symbol MSFT. Company you might be familiar with. Now, what I want to do is go over and look at the Financials tab, and when I do that, if I scroll down, we see the balance sheet, the income statement, and the statement of cash flows, and we could click on each of these in order to get information related to those particular financial statements. There's a lot of information in here I'd be very interested in as an investor. Assets, for instance, is everything that the company owns at a particular point in time.
