- So I believe that fashion in the workplace is actually a lot like an actor getting into their role to really understand the character. So let me explain really where this all comes from. When I started out many years ago in public relations I remember more than anything that interview, and it was early in the morning, and I remember that the woman who ran the public relations agency. She opened the door and she had on the most exquisite dress. I think it was a mint cream Carolina Herrera dress with fabulous shoes, and I connected to her, and we talked about a lot of things, P.S. I got the job. I don't remember the specifics of the interview, but I remember her dress, and I remember thinking that I wanted to be like that. That I wanted to be able to come into a room and make an impression, and so for me fashion has always kind of been that way.
