Eye contact

Eye contact

- This is also something we talk about elsewhere in this course. It's a mindfulness exercise. Situate yourself in front of a mirror, or you can use me as your partner. Come to quiet eye contact either with yourself or with me. See how long you can maintain focus, blinking when you need to, without looking away. (gentle music) If you begin to feel uncomfortable, put your mind's eye, your mental focus to another part of your body. While retaining your connection with me, put your mind's eye into your feet. Feel them on the floor. Let them anchor you, help you feel rooted and safe. Or, put your focal point to the top of your head. Well maintaining eye contact this can help you feel powerful and in control.
