Everyone has a different personality and different ways of expressing themselves. In this video, learn how to compare your personality to others.
- Let's dive deeper into your personality. The way we're going to do this is to take personality tests. Look, there are a ton of personality tests out there, but we've chosen three for you to take, and I really encourage you to take these and really study them, because each one is going to show you a different part of your personality. So it's really important that you take all three. Once we've taken the personality test, we're going to take two career tests. Now the purpose of these career tests is not to let the test decide your career for you, but just to give you an idea of what careers are out there. And I also want you to look for patterns. What type of jobs are they pointing to? Can you find the correlation? I think one of the things that really gets us stuck is we don't realize how big the world really is, how many jobs and careers are out there. So I don't want you to think, oh yeah, my career test told me I should be a police officer, therefore I have to be a police officer. No, hopefully these career tests will just steer you in a direction and give you some ideas. Finally, I want you to think about your family's career background. I think a lot of people forget this one, but your family background really does matter. If your family's already successful in a certain field, or already has a propensity for a certain type of career, maybe you should check that out and ask yourself, "Hey, am I already good at this? Do I like it?" If your dad is a mechanic and your mom is a teacher, you probably know a lot more about those careers than most people, and it could really get you ahead of the game. For example, my father's a wealth manager, so finances have always come easily to me because he continuously taught us about finances. So once I graduated, I was really interested in going into the financial field because it was already something I understood, something that came easy to me, and I was already miles ahead of my peers by the time I graduated.
