- In the coming days and months, your to-do list will seem endless, like there's always something that could be needing your attention. But it's important to focus on what needs your attention versus what you can pass off to other people. Here's a practice that I love to implement. Get out a pen and paper and write down everything that needs to be done in the business. Once you have that list, take out a red marker or any color marker, but I like red. Put a dot next to only things that you can do. If you're a business owner or a leader, that's going to be things like legal, banking, finance, payroll, things that really need your personal touch. Once you've completed that, look at all of the items that do not have a red dot. These are items that can be passed off to other people, whether it's your employees or people in your network.
