- You know, they have their guidelines for what is ethical behavior and what's not ethical behavior, but there's no process for how to report it, and where to go from there. So, as a manager you ought to understand what that is, and if so, you need to document that. Now, first and foremost, series of steps, you can think of it as a workflow. You need to report this to your manager. Now, if your manager is part of the ethics issue, maybe you go to HR, but let's, for the sake of discussion, say, you start by reporting this to your manager. So, I think the first thing you do, with you and your manager, is after you gather and discuss all the facts that ultimately have come to your attention, is to say, who else needs to be involved in this exercise? So you say, it could be legal, it could be IT, it could be HR. It could be a facilities issue, if you've got some sort of a spill.
