- Hi everyone, Barb here. Let's talk about ergonomic risk factors. What are risk factors? These are the things that we do that put us at risk for developing potential work-related injuries. We're familiar with risk factors when we talk about taking care of our teeth. If you don't floss and brush your teeth everyday, you're at risk for developing tooth decay. You know that from your dentist. The number one risk factor that I see is people working in awkward positions. So when I say awkward positions, what I mean is that they're not holding their body in a neutral position. This could be based on the fact that their equipment isn't properly adjusted or they're just not using their equipment properly. So one of the biggest things that I see is that people work with their computers in the corner. So a lot of times that happens because they have a guest chair and they have people sitting on the other side and they need to be able to see and that may happen once or twice a day but for the…
