- It's important to think about how our environment impacts our energy because so much of the brains attention is focused on our surroundings and whether or not we feel safe. And this is something worth paying attention to in your own space as well as the space of the people around you, at work and at home. About 95 to 99% of your brain power is actually focused on non-conscious cues in your environment, things that nudge your neurons towards feeling safe or threatened regardless of how logical it may seem. For example we know that typical urban sounds like traffic, sirens, or construction are not really a sign of danger, but the brain still has to work to filter these sounds and make judgements about them, which can actually be pretty exhausting to an already busy brain. At the same time hearing sounds of nature, like waves crashing or birds chirping doesn't mean you're actually near the ocean or surrounded by a lush forest, but these natural rhythmic sounds have been shown to help…
