- Many people equate employee satisfaction with employee engagement, but satisfaction is just one component of engagement. Employee engagement is a measurement of an employee's involvement, satisfaction, happiness, and loyalty. So while you may like your job okay, you may not be really invested in the company's success. Engaged employees actively seek out ways to improve processes or introduce new products and services because they view the job as more than a paycheck. Routinely measure engagement and ensure there are plans in place to maximize each employee's contribution to the organization. Employees are motivated differently and engagement surveys can give us some insight. For example, there are many research studies that conclude that Millennials, who now make up the majority of the workforce, leave organizations because of a perceived lack of growth opportunities.
