- I always try to remember, or try to imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes. Whether it's a chef on Top Chef that I'm giving criticism to that maybe isn't super positive, whether it's a guest judge on Top Chef who is really, really great at their job but may not be that articulate. I have to remember what it's like to arrive on a set that isn't yours and blend into the atmosphere and the energy of that set. Every T.V. set has its own energy, and to try and fit into that and do what you want and be what they need on the show I think that's a very difficult place to be in. And I always try and tell the guest that we're so excited that they are there because they're our experts. They're what make our show credible and really great.
