- [Instructor] The drawing tools on the Home tab include three tools for drawing lines. You can draw straight lines with the Line tool, normally at any angle that you choose. However, if you hold the Shift key while using the Line tool, you can only draw lines at multiples of 45 degrees. If you draw several lines, each of which begins where the previous line ended, Visio combines them into a single shape. The Freeform tool does what the name suggests, allowing you to draw just about anything. Note that if you end your freeform line where you began, Visio creates a two-dimensional shape. The Arc tool also does what name suggests, allowing you to draw arcs. Like the Line tool, if you begin each new segment where the previous segment ended, Visio combines them into a single shape.
