Draw rectangles, squares, ellipses, and circles
- [Instructor] You can use the drawing tools to create simple shapes very quickly regardless which template you selected to create your diagram. The drawing tools are located on the Home tab in the upper right corner of the Tools group. If the tool you want is displayed, simply click the button. Otherwise, use the dropdown to select the appropriate tool. Let's start with the Rectangle tool. As you click and drag to draw rectangles, you may notice occasionally that a diagonal line appears. It indicates the moment at which you've drawn a perfect square and if you let go of the mouse button while the line is visible, that's exactly what you get. There's another way to draw our squares. Simply hold the Shift key, while you're drawing and you will get perfect squares every time. The Ellipse tool, works very much like the Rectangle tool. You can draw ellipses in either direction.
