- [Interviewer] Oh, I love it, thank you. And when it comes to thinking about the time of day for things, you've been so bold as to write a whole book called "Never Check Email in the Morning." (interviewee laughs) Can you tell us why don't we do that and when should we do it? - [Interviewee] Email is a delivery mechanism for messages and requests and reminders and junk mail and solicitations and all kinds of things. But all in all, it's a reactive device. Everybody wakes up in the morning and has something they really want to get done that day, personally, professionally. Before you get to what you know you want to do, your proactive task or activity, you check email first. You postpone the proactive and they probably never get to it.
