Don’t be a perfectionist

- Your next option is what I often fall prey to and need to remind myself of from time to time. It's don't be a perfectionist. It's natural to want to give your customers the best work you can, but that can make tasks much longer than they need to be. Believe it or not, good enough is good enough. I've met so many aspiring salespeople who spend hours upon hours writing the perfect proposal, presentation or even email. As long as you're covering the information the prospect needs to know and you're presenting it clearly, then you've done your job. So remind yourself of this next time you feel you're drowning in work. Try to set a time limit on your work and allot time in your calendar to do that work and then stick to that. So ask your manager or colleague to take a look as well. If they say it's good enough, it probably is. So cut yourself some slack and stop being a perfectionist.
