- Accountable teams need accountable leaders. Your actions set the tone for your team. By demonstrating the behavior you expect, you're modeling the standards for your employees. A recent study found that more than 80% of employees say they pay closer attention to what their managers do rather than what they say. I'm not sharing this to make you paranoid, but I want to make sure you're aware of the missed opportunity if you aren't demonstrating the behaviors you expect or want to see. When it comes to setting the tone, remember GLOW, that's G, give your best effort. With everything that's on your plate, it's easy to look for shortcuts.
