- Have you ever tried to do several things at once and you end up feeling like you're spinning your wheels? Doing only one thing at a time is a surprisingly powerful way to be more productive. Many people still believe that multitasking is what helps them get more things done faster, but the opposite is true. When you focus on only one task at a time, it allows your brain to really target one thing without being distracted or sidetracked. I encourage you to give it a try and know that you'll feel more focused and productive. Here are two tips to help you. First, you'll want to take away as many distractions as you can while you're working, such as text and email alerts. When you can eliminate distractions, you'll be that much more focused on the task at hand.
