- A Diversity Inclusion Strategy is a massive undertaking and so it's usually met with a lot of resistance. Let me walk you through a seven step DNI Development Process so you'll know how to create an effective strategy for your organization. It starts by getting buy-in by the Executive Sponsor and team. Next, you assess the organization's needs and goals and move to create the infrastructure. For such a significant organizational initiative, you'll need to put together a Diversity Council to define the goals of the initiative, identify potential roadblocks, make recommendations, and monitor implementation. Another potential component infrastructure is the Employee Resource Group, also known as an Affinity Group. Affinity Group's are voluntary groups of people with similar interests or who share similar characteristics.
