- There are a few industries with projects as complicated and influenced by regulatory controls as the medical field. Healthcare projects require intense planning, close scrutiny, and a considerable amount of foresight. As more and more of these complex projects roll out across the globe, learning how to effectively manage them is an ambitious undertaking. During my 30 years of project management experience, I've been responsible for delivering technology services for hospitals and assisted with quality management in the medical device industry. Along the way, I've learned a lot about what to do and what not to do when managing projects in the healthcare environment. Given the diversity of projects and facilities that are involved in healthcare projects, we won't engage in a deep dive in any project type. Instead, we'll talk about the notable issues and planning considerations you should focus on as you tackle your own healthcare projects.
