- Developing your organization's vision is where the strategic planning process begins. Before you can design any other areas of your plan, you have to begin by understanding where you want the company to be in the next three, five, or seven years. The vision is what defines the future of your organization. It's what communicates to your employees what you are about. It's what attracts customers to you.
