- When I interned at a Minneapolis based Fortune 500 company in college, I asked my manager if they knew anyone on other teams who might be willing to talk with me about their career path. I figured he likely knew people in different departments who have an interest in supporting young professionals. I was introduced to Mark, who was a few years older than me and eager to help me navigate my internship. Mark and I met for coffee throughout the summer to talk about how my project was going, the roles he's had within the company, and his advice for how to turn this internship into a full-time offer. We continue to stay in touch long after the internship ended. Years later, we even met up in person when I was back in Minneapolis for a work trip.
