- [Instructor] It's all about networks, figuring out who to ask. Once you know what you need and have crafted the request you want to make, the next step is figuring out who to ask. Sometimes, you will know exactly who the right person is and you can direct your request accordingly, but other times you need to do some legwork. The key is to figure out who knows what, sometimes called the knowledge network and who knows who, the social network, in order to find someone who has the expertise or resource you need or who can identify and point you towards someone who does. Generally, when we need something, we start with the people we know. But while going to your small circle of friends may feel most comfortable, the reality is that many resources reside outside your circle.
