- In today's multi-generational workplace, if you're 40, 50, 60 or older, you're increasingly going to find yourself reporting to someone younger, most likely a Millennial, born in 1981 to 1966. Understanding and appreciating the similarities and differences we all share across our different ages will make it easier for you to build rapport and better working relationships including and especially with your younger manager. So what are the demographics and psychographics of each generation that make up today's workforce? Well, if you're a Baby Boomer like me, born 1946 to 1964, you've seen a lot of changes in your 35 plus years on the job and our generation still makes up about 25% of the U.S. workforce.
