- The inspirational leader, delegates as much as they can. … And this takes courage. … It's easy to delegate small stuff. … Stuff that you don't care about. … Stuff that you know people can do. … But imagine delegating a big, important thing … to somebody and you're not certain that they can do it. … That does take courage. … But it's okay, because you can monitor. … You can be there to check that they're okay. … You can have a meeting with them every day if you like … to check that they're all right. … You can say to them, "Bring me a plan … "of how you're going to do this." … So you can check the plan, make sure the plans all right. … But it does take some courage, … and you need to do that if you're going to be a great leader. … And then you need to trust them to get on with it. … I never trust people entirely, … so I quite like to monitor a little bit. … But what you could do is just monitor occasionally, … and just trust them in between the monitorings, … just trust them to get on with it and do it. …
