- One of the most exciting things about pitching your idea is showcasing the star of the show, your product. This is what you've spent time developing and it's what your business is all about. However, as you begin to showcase and explain your product, it's important to differentiate between that and your business. Meaning, your product isn't necessarily your business. I'll explain more of that in the Define Your Business video. But first, when it comes to defining your product, what you need to focus on is the item or service itself. And you can do that by asking, what gives your product a competitive advantage in the market? Is it the software, an extra feature that no one else has, or a quick turnaround that's unprecedented? What is it about your product that makes it unique? This is also the time where you can compare and contrast what's already on the market to give investors an understanding of what's out there.
