- As we've learned, your product is not necessarily your business. They are, however, extremely intertwined because your product and its delivery affect your business. This is especially true when the company is young. But at this point in your pitch, though investors may love your product, what they really want to know is will they get their money back if they invest in you. In other words, is there a viable and stable business projection. This is why when you are explaining your business model it's important to be very clear and transparent. I'm going to break down a few key areas that need to be addressed and explained in any investor pitch. The first is to talk about the sales of your product. How much are you charging for the product, how much does it cost to produce the product from beginning to end? What's the profit margin?
