Defining an audience

- In this video, I'm going to share ways to define your audience in a way that will make your customer and your marketing come to life. The more specific your description of your customer, the better. First, define a range of people that you think your product and service will resonate with best, and be specific. Let's say you're selling a new technology for people to listen to music in their cars. It's a physical product that you keep in your car that enables the music on your smart phone to play through your radio. Now a non-savvy marketer may define their audience as all adults who drive or who are passengers in cars, but that's too broad. First, you need to realistically size your audience with quantitative data. So get to work with research. You'll be amazed at what you can find out for free online.
